Description
Mullein and peppermint are a fantastic combination of herbs when it comes to respiratory problems including asthma, pneumonia, and whooping cough. When you have cold or flu accompanied with congestion or a cough, this tincture can be taken to help your body get some relief! We also added Nettle, Slippery Elm, Ginger, Wild Cherry Bark and Licorice Root to make this powerful tincture pack a punch!
It includes:
Mullein: This leaf is both an antispasmodic (relieves spasms) as well as an expectorant (helps expel mucus). These properties can help with deep-seated or spastic coughs, bronchial congestion, chest colds and allergies. However, Mullein leaf is favored for a remedy for glandular imbalances. It can also be a pain reliever, antiseptic, and infection-fighting properties.
Peppermint: Has great anodyne properties (able to relive pain) especially when it comes to headaches. This herb cools the body naturally, and is high in calcium, potassium, and magnesium which are needed for your body to recover from an illness as well as maintain a health, balanced homeostasis.
Nettle: Known as the multivitamin of herbs, this herb contains powerful nutrients your body CRAVES including iron, calcium, potassium, silicon, magnesium, manganese, zinc, and chromium as well as a host of other vitamins and minerals.
Slippery Elm: Soothing and mucilaginous this plant soothes any inflammation whether its sore throats, digestive issues, diarrhea and much more. This herb is highly nourishing and healing.
Ginger: This classic herb supports many systems in the body including the respiratory and digestive systems. We put it in this tincture because it helps open up your body’s pores to detox during times of illness, it revs up the immune system, and is just plain delicious!
Licorice Root: Licorice is known for it’s effect on the respiratory system working away as a demulcent (softens) and an anti-inflammatory for problems in this system. It’s especially effective toward bronchial congestion, sore throats, and coughs. Really a no-brainer for this tincture!
Wild Cherry Bark: This is our favorite herb for calming coughs. In fact, it’s included in many commercial cough medicine because it is so effective!
* Note: If this is your first time using an herbal medicine, know that herbal medicine doesn’t work like Tylenol or ibuprofen. Herbs work with your body and can often take time to begin to make a visual difference. Of course we recommend that if a fever is higher then your doctor or you are comfortable with, please seek medical attention.
**WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TINCTURE WHILE PREGNANT DUE TO THE WILD CHERRY BARK WHICH IS LIKELY UNSAFE DURING PREGNANCY. **
